What is The Mountain?

Our family made more connections with members of the congregation at The Mountain in a single weekend than we had in all of 2019. Susan and I were overwhelmed by the love and support of the people we already knew and new friends we met there. The phrase “it takes a village to raise a child” is certainly accurate, but I am so happy to have found our village.

The Mountain has a gorgeous location, super friendly staff, and healthy delicious food. The accommodations are simple, as befits a camp setting, but perfect if you want to convene with nature and enjoy some much needed quiet R&R. I love it and could spend the entire summer there!

For 30 years, the Mountain has given me incredible retreat experiences. I’m so grateful for its forest of ancient spirit trees and beautiful 360° views. An amazingly generous place of healing and nurturing challenge.

High atop the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Highlands of North Carolina is a beautiful and rustic array of cabins, dining hall, labyrinth, tower and so much more! This center is perfect for a private get-a-way or group retreat.

We love bringing our retreats to The Mountain. I think about the Mountain so often! The healing energy from the place, the real and genuine staff, and all the decades of compassionate work flow through the place and what we do and it feels just right. We are so grateful to you and what you all do! Thank you for the work around making such a place available and for the way you welcome people. I really like watching the change that starts to flow through them when they arrive!

I never felt like an outsider. We love that there are hiking trails directly from the mountain top. A short ride to waterfalls and the beautiful town of Highlands. A perfect place to have a retreat or a small or large group event.
