I was invited to The Mountain at first as a much needed retreat. Then I got drawn into the scene and the folks and it became a wonderful experience. Its is always a blessing to be there. I went back to volunteer and gained an opportunity to work there. It was the greatest experience ever. I know that the staff is hardworking and committed to maintaining a welcomed home for many wonderful people who come there.
The Mountain staff is a critical element to what makes this place so special. They are the most welcoming, warm, and friendly people you will ever meet. This is what makes this place feel like home. The Mountain also seems to attract a variety of groups and individuals that are always up for good conversation.
Our family made more connections with members of the congregation at The Mountain in a single weekend than we had in all of 2019. Susan and I were overwhelmed by the love and support of the people we already knew and new friends we met there. The phrase “it takes a village to raise a child” is certainly accurate, but I am so happy to have found our village.
For 30 years, the Mountain has given me incredible retreat experiences. I’m so grateful for its forest of ancient spirit trees and beautiful 360° views. An amazingly generous place of healing and nurturing challenge.
