Mountain Movers

About the Mountain Movers Program

The Mountain Retreat & Learning Center is a special place of natural beauty and community.

Mountain Movers is a volunteer network of Mountain supporters that work to strengthen connections between The Mountain and Unitarian Universalist congregations by regularly sharing information about our programs and retreat facilities, promoting active participation, membership, and financial support.

Another aspect of our Mountain Movers program is to connect congregations by inviting representatives of The Mountain staff and volunteer leaders as guest speakers for Sunday services and other group meetings and gatherings. We may not always have representatives available for every event, but will do our best to respond.

Check out our online Mountain Movers Toolkit where you can find downloadable materials and resources to assist you in promoting The Mountain Retreat & Learning Center. You will find listings of Mountain programs, resources for planning retreats, MountainCamp and Youth CONferences.

You will find additional information about membership, volunteer service, and giving opportunities on The Mountain’s website. The Mountain Retreat & Learning Center is also active on Facebook—please visit our page and let us know you “like” and “share” what you see and think others will be interested in.

Here are some ways you can share your love of The Mountain with others in your community:

  • Create a Mountain bulletin board on which to post program flyers and visuals
  • Host a table featuring The Mountain Retreat & Learning Center during coffee hour
  • Share The Mountain’s Facebook posts and website links via your social media and networks
  • Encourage children and youth in your congregation to participate in MountainCamp and Youth CONferences by advocating for MountainCamp funding in your congregation’s annual budget.
  • Share a presentation using our Mountain and/or MountainCamp power point slides and video, or create one using your photos and video clips.
  • Talk to a friend about The Mountain—better yet, invite them to participate in a program!
  • Host a House Party for supporters and those interested in learning more about The Mountain—don’t forget to contact us to arrange for a Mountain representative to the gathering!
