High atop the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Highlands of North Carolina is a beautiful and rustic array of cabins, dining hall, labyrinth, tower and so much more! This center is perfect for a private get-a-way or group retreat.
I was invited to The Mountain at first as a much needed retreat. Then I got drawn into the scene and the folks and it became a wonderful experience. Its is always a blessing to be there. I went back to volunteer and gained an opportunity to work there. It was the greatest experience ever. I know that the staff is hardworking and committed to maintaining a welcomed home for many wonderful people who come there.
Our family made more connections with members of the congregation at The Mountain in a single weekend than we had in all of 2019. Susan and I were overwhelmed by the love and support of the people we already knew and new friends we met there. The phrase “it takes a village to raise a child” is certainly accurate, but I am so happy to have found our village.
