Climate Justice: Extending Our Reach 


Conference Overview 

This conference presents information about factors that have shaped the human impacts on climate change.  These climate changes are directly related to injustices, resulting from the intersection of race, class and environment.   

Conference sessions will extend your understanding of the causes and impacts of climate change, what climate justice means and how we go forward together.   

Topics will include

  • Climate Change in Relation to Justice, Action and Hope 
  • Unitarian Universalist Green Sanctuary Program 
  • Climate Change: Science and Impacts 
  • Mountain Food Forest and Sustainable Agriculture; and Impact of Food Choices 
  • Maskoke Ecovillage: An Intentional Indigenous Ecovillage Community 
  • Project Drawdown – A Way Forward 
  • Ways to Change Our Future 

The conference format provides a variety of kinds of opportunities

  • Mornings consist of yoga, reflections for centering, and large group experiences linking climate change to justice, action and hope.   
  • Afternoons provide a wide variety of content-based workshops for individual interests, with late afternoon Qigong and short hikes. 
  • Evening programming provides alternative ways to learn together – caucus gatherings, folk music concert, climate justice documentary, and open mic for sharing.

Cost per person: $570 which includes programming, meals and five nights lodging (double occupancy)
